1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using WearScore (“the app”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the app.

2. Description of Service

WearScore is a clothing quality intelligence app that allows you to:

• Scan clothing care labels using your device camera or photo library
• Receive quality grades (A–F) based on fiber composition analysis
• View detailed fabric metrics including pilling risk, breathability, care complexity, and longevity estimates
• Browse a directory of 200+ fashion brands with quality ratings
• Search for garments by fiber type, category, and quality grade
• Track your personal wardrobe with aggregate quality statistics

3. Accounts and Authentication

You may use WearScore without creating an account. Certain features (cloud sync, wardrobe tracking across devices) require signing in with Apple. When you sign in:

• You must use a valid Apple ID
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Apple ID credentials
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account

4. Subscriptions and Payments

Free tier

WearScore offers a free tier that includes up to 5 label scans per calendar month with full quality analysis, A–F grading, fiber breakdown, and care insights.

WearScore Pro

WearScore Pro is a subscription that unlocks unlimited scans, complete brand intelligence, and full wardrobe analytics. Pro is available as:

• Monthly subscription at £4.99/month
• Lifetime purchase at £49.99 (one-time payment)

Billing

• All payments are processed through Apple’s App Store
• Monthly subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID settings (Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions)
• Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with their refund policy
• Prices may change with reasonable notice; existing subscribers will be notified before any price increase takes effect

5. Quality Grades and Scores

WearScore provides quality assessments based on fiber composition data extracted from clothing labels. You acknowledge and agree that:

• Grades are informational only — They are based on general properties of fiber types and should not be the sole basis for purchasing decisions.
• Accuracy depends on label quality — OCR text recognition may produce errors on damaged, faded, or unusually formatted labels. You can manually correct scanned text.
• Scores reflect fiber composition — Grades do not account for construction quality, stitching, brand reputation, or other factors that affect garment durability.
• Longevity estimates are approximate — Predicted lifespan depends on individual care habits and usage patterns.
• Brand data is aggregated — Brand quality grades are derived from scanned data and may not represent every product a brand offers.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the app for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the app
• Interfere with or disrupt the app’s servers or infrastructure
• Circumvent free tier scan limits through automated means or multiple accounts
• Upload malicious content, inappropriate images, or content that infringes on third-party rights as garment photos
• Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the brand directory
• Misrepresent scan results or quality grades for commercial fraud

7. Intellectual Property

The WearScore app, including its design, scoring algorithms, brand database, user interface, and all associated content, is owned by WearScore and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of any part of the app without our written permission.

You retain ownership of any photos you upload to the app. By uploading garment photos, you grant us a limited license to store and display them within the app for your personal use.

8. Privacy

Your use of WearScore is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data. Key points:

• All label scanning is performed on-device — photos are never uploaded
• Cloud sync is optional and requires signing in with Apple
• We do not use analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs
• We do not sell your data

9. Disclaimers

WearScore is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

• Accuracy or completeness of quality grades, scores, or brand data
• Fitness for a particular purpose
• Uninterrupted or error-free operation
• Compatibility with all clothing label formats or languages

We do not guarantee that quality grades will match your subjective experience with a garment. Fabric quality is influenced by many factors beyond fiber composition.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, WearScore and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

• Loss of profits or savings from purchasing decisions based on quality grades
• Damage to garments resulting from care recommendations
• Loss of data due to account deletion or service interruption
• Any reliance on brand quality ratings for commercial purposes

Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the app shall not exceed the amount you paid for WearScore Pro in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Termination

You may stop using WearScore at any time by deleting the app. You may delete your account through your Apple ID settings, which will permanently remove all associated data from our servers.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the app if you violate these Terms, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the app ceases immediately.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Material changes will be communicated through the app. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the app shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
